New Invaders 09
Hey it felt good to get to a festival after a long winter. The Glen Ellyn fest is one of the first fests in the Chicago area for the year. The town of Glen Ellyn is a clean beautiful town. The fest is situated on the main street . Vendors and food are located on the southside of the railroad tracks and the carnival is on the northside of the tracks. The carnival being away from the vendors , music and food to me is nice. The Fest itself is not very big. They do have many good vendors with nice stuff to buy.
If you are going just for the bands it's a hard place to watch comfortably. They put tables in a squared off area that almost eliminates you from bringing your favorite festing chair. The area to actually see the band is small and closed in. The band 7th Heaven was great as usual. 7th Heaven is one of THE great festival bands in the Chicago area. They really switch up thier songs a newer cover, a classic cover and then an original song. I don't think I have been to fest where they have ever not been good. They always get the audience involved and enthusiastic. Everyone sings along and there is always a crowd up near the stage. 7th Heaven is always a solid bet for a good time.
The band for Saturday night "The New Invaders" is another fun band that also gets the crowd going from the great classic songs to the GoGo dancers another solid pick. These 2 bands really have geared themselves to play at festivals and do it well. If you couldn't make the Glen Ellyn fest look at thier festing schedules you can probably see them at some festival every week during the summer. Went back to see New Invaders on Saturday they were fantastic.
