Dwight Harvest Days was started in 1979 by the Dwight Area Chamber of Commerce with a one-day event of arts and crafts, parade and band contest. In 1981 it was agreed to separate the Chamber from the Harvest Days Committee, and the event was to be held on the third weekend of September each year, beginning on Friday and going through Sunday. Crafts, flea markets, kiddie attractions, downtown entertainment, parade and band competition are the highlights of the weekend, attracting over 10,000 people each year.
