According to tradition, the first Oktoberfest was held on October 12, 1810, when Crown Prince Ludwig, heir to the Bavarian throne, married Princess Therese of Saxony. A celebration ensued in honor of the bride that was such a success it became an annual event, growing bigger and better each year. Join the tradition! Saturday, September 27, 2014 from 4-11 pm--RAIN OR SHINE-- St. Louise De Marillac Parish presents their annual Oktoberfest, a family fun festival with free admission! This year our featured band will be, The Bratwurst Brothers. Their playlist includes Oktoberfest music and popular contemporary favorites as well as classic favorites The Bratwurst Brothers will play from 7-10:30 pm. Traditional Oktoberfest Food will be available for purchase along with imported & domestic beers, wine, pop & water. The menu includes bratwurst, pork tenderloin, potato pancakes, strudel, soft pretzels, and for the kids there will be hot dogs, chips & nachos.
